The Health Function Products Business comprises two segments - the Healthcare Business and Fine Chemical Products.
The Healthcare Business provides baby food free of 25 specified allergy provoking ingredients (only produced by Kewpie in Japan), Japan’s first nursing care food (universal design food) and medical foods suitable for patients with kidney diseases and diabetes.
The Fine Chemical Products centers on health functions and medical materials. As for hyaluronic acid, the representative material for anti-aging, Kewpie is the only manufacturer in Japan that applies two manufacturing methods of cock’s comb extraction and microbial fermentation. Based on these methods, Kewpie applies such functionality materials as high-functional hyaluronic acid that employs molecular weight control technologies in line with usage, yolk lecithin extracted from eggs and egg membrane protein to manufacture food products, cosmetics and medical products.
Kewpie will continue to expand our sales channels including catalog sales specialized for home medical care and entering the Asian and Western markets while expanding our product lineup.
